Vegtables and Gardens

So today has consisted so far of farmers market for fruit and veggie shopping and gardening.

I'm SO excited I've planet a little garden! We have a bunch of over grown flower beds in our back yard that haven't really had anything done to them since we moved in here two and a half years ago. So today with some help from Matt and my brother we dug up one of the beds, got top soil and planet a lovely little garden. We planted tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, carrots, peppers, dill, cilantro, chives and some flowers. There is a row of sweet peas on the far side they're my favorite :). I've never had a garden before so I'm not sure how well it will do, but I'm pretty excited to see!

My little garden.

I forgot to take a picture before we started but this is pretty much what it looked like only even more grass and weeds.

Tomatoes! I'm so excited to have yummy fresh tomatoes.. mm I love tomatoes.I still need to get some caging or something for my tomatoes to grow and climb up. We put up some latice for the sweet peas to grow up but we need to re-enforce that too.

We got a lot of delicious stuff from the farmers market today too. I love going there, everything is so fresh and bright. So much better than the grocery store, and cheaper too!

I got dill, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, an avocado, asparagus, lemons, a pineapple, red and green peppers and oranges all for only around 20 dollars!

We also went to all the little shops around the market and got some yummy fresh bread, root beer some candy, new paint brushes and I got a cute little owl necklace!

I picked lots of flowers from out yard today too. I got some milk jars from the thrift store last week to use as vases. We have so many tulips right now and i want to enjoy them as much as possible before they're gone

Hope everyone is having a lovely spring sunday!
