My Year In Pictures 2010

I'll do the second half of the year in a few days ! From now until new years I plan on making posts about the past year and the year to come. I hope next year is as good and better than this past year has been. I have high hopes that 2011 is going to be a great year :)

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a wonderful christmas/holiday season! Mine was perfect !


Christmas eve I went to my moms with my brothers girlfriend Brittany around 5 and wrapped a few last minute presents. Then My brother Colton and Matt showed up and we all ate way to much nachos and cookies and we played games (my aunt and my moms fiance were there too!). My mom gave us big baskets full of tons of awesome little treats and stuff for our house ! When we go home that night me and Matthew opened our stockings! It was our second Christmas together and our first in the new house. It was so nice we had our christmas lights on inside and out, candles and stockings. Matt got me a beautiful ring with my birthstone in it and promised me he would always love me and do everything in his power to make me happy all the time (baaaawww love him). I got him a looney toons dvd and a bunch of yummy chocolate and candy. We stayed up till midnight and wished each other merry Christmas.

We woke up early at around 7 on Christmas morning and headed to my dads house. My parents arnt together but we still all get together every Christmas morning. Me and Matthew got there and my Dad and brother were already up getting breakfast started, my mom got there a few minutes later and we opened a few gifts. Then we ate an awesome Dad made breakfast before opening the rest of our presents. I got Way too spoiled! My family is amazing we have always had such wonderful Christmases my mom has always made it so special and she still continues that to this day. I will definatly carry that on to my children one day, the thought of it is so exciting to me :D

After Christmas morning we came home so I could cook my carrots for Christmas dinner at my aunts. Matts mom came to visit us for a little while and then we all headed over to Matts great grammas. His whole family was there and we ate snacks and took pictures and just visited for a few hours. Then back to my dads house to get my brother and we all went to christmas dinner, ate too much and played games. There was around 20 people there it was crazy! I have a huge crazy family but its lots of fun. We went home at the end of the night exhausted and stuffed but very happy. It was an awesome day!

Hello Kitty feety pajamas!! I looove these they are SO cute and comfy!

I also got some smaller things and clothes.

I put up a new layout here today! I'm loving it I needed a change since the layout has been the same since i started this blog. 

We went and braved the crowds at the mall for boxing day today. I swore I would never go to the mall on boxing day again they sales aren't even worth the crowds. We just went to pick up a few things like shoes for Matt and a new bigger memory card for my new camera. And it surprisingly wasn't as bad as I remembered! Maybe I'll go again next year :)

Picking Pretty Things From My Yard

I love making little arrangements from branches and sticks and other pretty things in my yard. But watch out for prickers... I got stabbed a few times. Matt helped me get with the big one though :)

I have to say Aura does it better. I love the way she decorates her house with every changing season using natural things! Super inspiring :D Go check out her blog its awesome

A Couple of Things

I made a place to hang some of my many belts, hats, scarves and gloves with a bit of wool and some white thumb tacks.

I just weaves a pretty piece of purple wool around thumb tacks tied them off and hung everything up

It works awesome! and I can actually see what I have out finally.

And...

The most tasty veggie burritos I've ever made.

Ive made these like once a week for the past three weeks they're so easy to put together and soso yummy. I am a fiend for burritos though.

May not look like the most appetizing thing ever but they defiantly taste awesome! 

I just heat up refried beans  Amy's organic with green chiles these are THE BEST beans I've ever had.. I could eat them cold out of the can haha and I sometimes do a little while cooking. I mix the refried beans with drained and rinsed black beans and a can of corn in a pot or pan. I add a bit of salt and pepper and maybe some red pepper flakes and cayenne if I want it a bit spicer. Thats it! I usually make guacamole too, yum. 

Then just heat up some shells and throw on some cheese and sour cream plus what ever other vegies you like and its a super filling meal that lasts for days in the fridge ( I think I like leftover burritos the best).

Happy birthday to me!

Wow, I cant believe its less than a week until Christmas! I'm not really sure how its only a week away because it seems like just the other day it was still summer... But its here! I had my birthday yesterday :) the big 2-3 ! I went out for dinner with the fam (brother his girlfriend mom dad and Matthew) on Thursday and it was great. Awesome food lots of laughs tasty drinks and my whole family together = perfect birthday. Yesterday I went for drinks with friends and made it home pretty early it was a good low key day. And its Matt's birthday on Tuesday but we celebrated it today with dinner at his family's house. We ate so much food as usual. Matt's mom is an amazing cook and I ate way to much but it was great.

I got some awesome presents including a mac gift card and super cute zebra slipper socks from my mom. Some super warm cute leg warmers that Matts mom knitted me :). Kirby's epic yarn  from my brother. Its such a cute game I love it! Matt got me a really awesome book about birds that I love because now I can figure out what all the little birdies on my deck are. plus a few more things I cant remember :S And still and iphone and hair extensions to come I feel so spoiled. I love my family so so much <3

Other than that I've been doing a lot of knitting and baking and staying warm by my fire. I love christmas time so much and am trying to not be stressed about the fact that I haven't finished my Christmas shopping yet. I'm almost there though !

    I really need to clean my windows yikes! found a pretty new Russian nesting doll the other day.

 I've been knitting a lot of headbands and I LOVE this wool its so soft and such a pretty color 99cents at the thrift store!

I'm feeling completely uninspired today.. Just a little off. so i thought I would force myself to write. Being unemployed is starting to get to me.. I love being home, making fires and visiting friends, cooking and taking care of my house. I suppose I'm just starting to feel a little purposeless. I pained all day today and watched Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2. Now its 9 o clock and I still haven't left the house... I just hate feeling like a wasted a day ever. Anyways, I know I'll be feeling better by tomorrow, and I know I will have a job soon enough. I just need to tell myself these things on days like today. I have to pull myself out of the dark hole I sometimes let myself slip into before remembering that my life is so not bleak and horrible.

onto happier things :) We took the dog for a huge walk by the river the other day. We brought snacks and found a little crevasse in between the rocks and a clay cliff to sit in and eat and rest it was lovely all tucked in there. There was still snow on the ground here and there which was beautiful although I ended up with wet feet again.
I love watching Koda play out in the wilderness, he always looks soooo happy.
